Last
summer was a very positive one down at the Town Beach. Additional Tree Service
work was completed, thanks to the Canopy Grant. The grant also provided
additional shrubs and trees! A substantial amount of work was done to address
erosion at the shoreline. Thanks to Sid Smith and Tony Leighton for their
generous donations of time and materials.
The
Canadian Geese found our newly planted grass delectable, resulting in a problem
for about a month. After much research we discovered a simple solution--
reflective mylar tape---- to deter the goose parents and their four large
children.
Over
31 children participated in the swim program. We were blessed to have two great
swim instructors, who enjoy children and who helped the kids make significant
progress.
Thanks
to all those who helped get the docks and floats in and out of the water during
the chilly spring and early fall. We are pleased we'll have a new raft to
replace the old one this year. See you at the beach this summer!
